BR James in London!
We are delighted to be playing one of our favourite venues! Pizza Express Live (Jazz Club Holborn), and this as part of BR’s 2022 tour, happening on the 25th of Jan 2022!
After a whirlwind of a last couple of years, it is refreshing to be playing in one of our favourite cities, London.
We are working on something special, aiming for it to be an event like no other.
Introducing the Band playing alongside BR:
Roberto Genco, a bass guru who plays "the funkiest bass you've ever heard" Rob has played with BR since 2016
Sarah Jayne has been a backing vocalist for BR James since 2017
Johnny Macco, the groovy drummer. Johnny has played with BR James since 2017
We are also really excited to have a confirmed opening act, Maxine Mae! Maxine Mae is a classically trained pianist and Jazz vocalist.
Amongst influences at home as a child was jazz singer Sarah Vaughan who was much loved by her mother. Both parents encouraged her to develop musically.
She has performed at Merton Abbey Mills and Bistro 48 in London. Prior to the pandemic, she worked with Owen Davis, a classically trained guitarist, on jazz standards.
Maxine names artists from different genres amongst her favourites. Singers such as Kimmie Skota, Diana Krall, Luther Vandross, Callie Day and Curtis Stigers are amongst musicians she admires. Her musical journey continues as does a love of the blues and gospel which she hopes to incorporate into her songs in the future.
Pizza Express Live Holborn is the newest live music venue in London, hosting great names from the Art and are looking forward to hosting BR James and the Band!
